F1DRIVING VISION TRAINING

WHAT IS THIS? ARC_Team offers an innovative training system for all drivers (GT & Formula), aiming to learn tracks and to improve their abilities, using the best and most performing technologies of simulation and driving control. This is F1Driving, a simulator installed on a motion platform that use 4 D-BOX actuators and controlled by a motion cueing called “PRO”, developed by ARC_Team in collaboration with D-BOX engineers. The simulator is set in front of a wraparound screen (it has a 4 mts in diameter, 2 mts high with a bend of 220°, 3 Full HD beamers with a ultrawide optical for a total immersion. The simulator is controlled by an operator/engineer who managed everything with a multi-monitors system. The driver is linked with him by intercom to have some real time informations.

The training with the simulator can be select between two different packages: ON REQUEST or PROGRAMMED.

ON REQUEST : The driver, the driver's manager or the Team Manager can ask a test session with the simulator on a specific circuit for a variable number of hours (from 2 to whole day) with a one hour break for the lunch, and repeat it every time that he need.

PROGRAMMED : ARC_Team, together with the driver or his Manager, or the Team Manager, sets a specific training program that includes a minimum of suggested hours calculated from our experience in the latest 4 years. This plan provides such hours of training in the winter and during the racing season.

WHAT DO YOU NEED? We suggest to the driver to bring his racing equipment (suit, shoes, gloves - helmet is not necessary) in addition to a towel and a pair of cotton t-shirt.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER? Both programs provide the telemetry use and analysis with the driving results; in add the driver can find drinks, coffee and snacks in automatic dispenser and a dedicated dressing room.

 

SOME ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE "ON REQUEST" AND "PROGRAMMED" PROGRAMS:

  • Approach of simulator (commands and feeling)

  • Knowledge of circuit and the first adjustments

  • Lap times analysis and first setup development with car datas

  • Long run (following the plan with the driver)

  • Check of datas with our engineer and last setup changes

  • Any other specific exercises planned with the driver (pit-stop test, starts or qualification lap only if really required)

  • Intercom with our engineer/staff

Thanks to our experience we know that the driver can understand the simulator very well after 4/6 hours of use and we suggest this time to approach a training program before a real race in case your choice is “ON REQUEST” program. For “PROGRAMMED” program we suggest to split the sessions in the winter season for a correct training -> (Formula 1 - GP2 - GP3 - Formula 2 - Formula 3 - Formula Abarth ) minimum 60 hours. GT cars (GT3 - GT2 - Supertrofeo) minimum 40 hours.

 

THE SIMULATOR: F1Driving Vision System has been developed thank to the valuable cooperation and advice of teams and some professional and international racing drivers, from Formula Abarth to Formula 1. The simulation software includes a physics model for different kind of cars having the features very close to the real. It can simulate also a private test session or a race with virtual opponents. The virtual car has more then 120 parameters to modify its setup and, at the beginning of every session, we prepare the simulator with an optimal setup developed by our tester but it can be modified with the driver's suggestions during the session.

SIMULATOR TECHNICAL SHEET

The simulator is equipped with these control systems:

  • Steering wheel with a paddle shift and clutch equipped also with a multifunctions display with many informations as a rpm, gear, lap times, etc. The steering system is connected to the simulator by a quick release and it gives to the driver the strenght and feedback as a real car when it drives over the kerbs, bumps or when the car has oversteer or understeer

  • Pneumatic pedalset with a real brake pressure strenght up till 80 kgs and pressure sensor. In add, is available the third pedal (clutch) and sequential gearbox

  • Chassis equipped with electrical seat and seat belts, pedalset with electrical deep regulation and the seat belts (soon will have a pre-tension system)

  • 4 actuators motion platform powered by D-Box 4400i + new motion cueing “PRO”

  • Real time remote control and check system of main virtual car parameters as tyre wear, tyre temps, engine, gears, oil and tyre pressures, fuel, lap and split times, throttle and brake use, G-forces

  • Intercom between driver and engineer/assistant

  • Telemetry system

Visively, three Full HD beamers reproduce the track, car wheels and suspensions giving to the driver the impression of being truly on a real car; also the wheels reproduce in real time the steering wheel movement. Tyres and brakes must be heated as in the real life. Off-track situations are penalized with the need to slow down for cleaning the rubber and recovering its grip over, that in the event of a collision against the tyrewalls, kerb or wall could damage parts of the car as suspensions or wings.
Nowadays we don't replicate other slower cars since the target is to improve perceptions by mental and physical stress requiring the maximum concentration to allow the driver to have consistency in lap times as well as faster reaction. Furthermore, each parameter is well represented: layout paths, car behaviour and handling, setup for local adjustments (over 120 independent settings). At the beginning of each session we provide an optimal setup developed by our testers but it could be adjusted according to needs of each driver.

CREDITS: Walter Penker Racing, a famous austrian drivers school, reached with us an important partnership buying three simulators and preparing several racing drivers including Andreas Zuber, Michael Herck, Florian Spengler, Klaus Bachler and Mirko Bortolotti. Simforce Emotions bought two systems for Young Mercedes Driving Academy. Other private drivers trusted in F1Driving and they bought a personal simulator to training theirself or for fun.

IMPORTANT!!: All reproduced cars in the simulator are “standard”. We reproduce the correct physics model as writed in the constructor's manuals. This kind of work can be requested from the team to prepare exactly its virtual car and try at a good level aeromap and mechanical configurations. By request we can develop (time and cost will be defined) a precise model of your race car. We are available to sign NDA to protect all your informations. We can built, for sell, a complete simulation system using different visualization system and different kind of software if you need more features or motion platforms.

All cost will be invoiced. Payment must be completed at the end of the service.

Payment options: cash or bank transfer (before the training), credit card (only Visa and Mastercard with previous verification).

We don't accept: cheque or payment by instalments.

 

TIMETABLE

  • From 9 am to 6 pm with an hour for lunch break (not included)

  • From 9 am to 1 pm

  • From 2 pm to 6 pm
  • 2 or 3 consecutive hours during the day

  • After 6 pm, on saturda, on sunday and on other public holidays we add a 15% more of standard prices

NOTE: the simulator could cause nausea or malaise. We suggest to take an antiemetic 20 minutes before the training session (on request we can supply it). The booked session assumes the implicit acceptance, if it no possible to drive for a malaise, that we charge 50% of the hourly price to cover fixed costs. We require to be punctual with the scheduled times to allow to other drivers to work on time in the same day.
